By all means mention your camera and lens used, and if the picture has been altered or enhanced in anyway! Out of the box thinking is encouraged!!

Please open your page for viewing for all for that day...and then visit as many others as you can! Try and post a decent size pic on your blog page, so much is lost if the pic is too small or too big.

The theme this week is

Safe

I was with Linda and John in an enchanting little town on the ocean in February when I came across this old bike chained and locked to a fire hydrant. I don't usually take photo's without people in them but this caught my imagination. It was well worn and looked as if it meant a great deal to the person who was keeping it safe.

Safely anchored to the shore

The ship can neither sink nor sail

Locked securely in a drawer

The pen no longer tells the tale

Fears too great, risks too high

Mountains so steep we don’t even try

Clip their wings and cage them tight

The bird can sing but it can’t fly

In the end it’s not safe at all

We only learn to ride

After we learn to fall

The bike looks as old as I am LOL ... but it looks to be in very good shape, I'd probably want to keep it safe as well. Nice poem to ... the keep going till you get it right kinda piece ... I like it. 8=)

Great idea for safe. Although I'd think it's illegal to chain a bike to a fire hydrant. In fact I'm sure it is here. I'm off to find a "safe" picture. I'll be back with my link.

So thats what a fire hydrant looks like, its big isn't it...lol. Whoever owns that bike must really love it as you say, makes me wonder where its been in its lifetime. Interesting picture.
