Welcome to Picture Perfect This is week #3 of our 6 week competition, the rules are slightly different during this time so please read them carefully as a transgression may cost you a Top Ten or HM placement! The theme for week three is:
"Focused"
Our friend Johnoh is still missed terribly by all of us here. This week would have been his birthday week and I was lucky enough to be able to once again take the three hour drive this past weekend to visit his hometown and what was one of his favorite places to take visitors, The Monterey Bay Aquarium. (If you ever get the chance and are in the area I recommend taking the time to visit the aquarium.) Although I love all the fascinating sea life exhibits, and the place holds many wonderful memories of times spent with two of my best friends, one exhibit in particular holds a piece of my heart.... my main focus was to see the Penguins. It made me smile when from among the dozens of penguins and visitors this one found me and seemed to be focused on getting my attention. He would swim a few feet away, then come back to me paddling in place, almost as if he was making eye contact........ until, in typical penguin fashion, he left me without a backward glance the instant the volunteer came with his lunch.

Rules of the Game Each Wednesday a theme will be posted here on Picture Perfect. You have all of Wednesday,Thursday and Friday to post your pictures. On Saturday the judges will deliberate, and select the Ten of the Best and the Honorable Mentions (not necessarily 10, but not more than 10), and we will then put the poll up for voting for Saturday night and Sunday. The winner will be announced on Sunday evening. So to recap: you have three days in which to post your picture, there will be one full day of deliberation by the judges and one day and a half of voting for those selected as Top Ten, by contacts only! There are no prizes, just recognition from your peers, and a little badge to post on your blog for all eternity! Anyone can enter..but only Picture Perfect contacts will be able to vote. The winner of any particular week will not be able to participate in the following weeks competition, but he/she will be invited to participate in the selection of the Top Ten with the other admins, for the following week. This will happen each week. We will begin this competition with the winner of the last week of the previous competition standing down and assisting us with this weeks Top Ten selection. Remember: only ONE picture please and it should be YOURS and not lifted off the internet. If it has been taken by a friend or member of family please mention that fact, this will however eliminate you from the competition portion of Picture Perfect but is not considered plagiarism in any form. No slide shows please, and *no automatic music* on your page A few words or a short poem to enhance or explain the picture is allowed. Keep it very brief though. Size matters! Please post your picture in a large enough format which is visually pleasing to the eye. Please do not post a small picture and expect us to 'click to enlarge' Do not post a picture that is too big either. Post your picture on an authentic blog page and not in one of your online photo-albums, or to any site other than Multiply. This makes visiting by the admins easy and hassle free. Come back and leave your link in the commentary box on this page so that everyone can link to your blog and see your picture.
By all means mention your camera and lens used however humble, and if the picture has been altered or enhanced in anyway! Altering or adding effects is allowed though. No text on the actual picture is permitted as this does detract from the visual aspect. Signatures and watermarks are allowed but should be subtle. Out of the box thinking is encouraged!! Please open your page for viewing for 'everyone' that day! Viewing every single entry is not expected, neither is commenting. Do what you are able, remembering always to be positive and courteous to others. No soliciting for votes is allowed, and remember every vote is completely anonymous! This is a family oriented site! During Competition time, all rules need to be strictly adhered to. Now, let's dust those cameras off and focus on finding that just right shot.
